- Integrating VO Applications With Google Cloud Anthos Improves Flexibility and Hybrid Cloud Performance for TV and Video Service Providers
PARIS — Viaccess-Orca (VO), a global leader providing OTT and TV platforms, content protection, and advanced data solutions, announced a new collaboration with Google Cloud to streamline TV and video service deployments and operations. VO solutions are now integrated with Google Cloud Anthos, a fully managed Kubernetes-based platform that allows users to manage their data and applications in hybrid cloud environments, including on-premises, the public cloud, the private cloud, and multi-cloud.
“We’re excited to join forces with Viaccess-Orca and lead the TV and video industry’s cloud-native transformation,” said Jeff Reed, Vice President of Product GKE and Anthos at Google Cloud. “The integration of Viaccess-Orca’s solutions with Google Cloud Anthos is a quantum leap forward in streamlining the deployment and manageability of TV platforms. With Anthos, cloud-native applications can be deployed from anywhere, enabling TV and video services to be launched faster and with a better ROI.”
Anthos unifies the management of infrastructure and applications across on-premises, edge, and in multiple public clouds with a Google Cloud-backed control plane for consistent operation at scale. Running VO solutions on Anthos will accelerate the TV and video industry’s transition to cloud-native deployments and bring multiple benefits to TV and video service providers, including automatic scalability, ease of deployment, and increased operational efficiency.
“This collaboration with Google Cloud highlights our continued commitment to addressing the evolving infrastructure requirements of our customers while taking into account the reality of their deployments,” said Alain Nochimowski, CTO at Viaccess-Orca. “Many of our customers will be operating a mix of on-premises and cloud infrastructure for years to come. By joining forces with Google Cloud, with the support of Orange, VO is offering service providers the ability to orchestrate and scale deployments based on micro-service architectures between different platforms and operation models, which is a critical requirement for success in the TV and video environment.”
Orange, one of the world’s leading telecommunications operators, is working on this initiative with Google Cloud. “Mastering a cloud-native approach is critical to taking full advantage of the scalability and elasticity that a public cloud provides,” said Steve Jarrett, Global Head of Data and AI at Orange.”
