Siano to provide mobile TV to China’s Largest Digital Video Provider

AMSTERDAM — Leading Chinese digital TV provider, Coship (Shenzhen:002052), announced today the launch of a new member, the CPND-4303A, to its GPS product line, with DVB-T mobile TV capability, powered by Siano Mobile Silicon’s receiver chip.

Based on Siano’s leading SMS1130 multi-standard receiver chip, the CPND-4303A offers high quality reception of DVB-T signals, coupled with best-in-class power consumption and exceptional mobility performance, allowing consumers to enjoy high-resolution digital TV programs for long hours, indoors as well as outdoors, while travelling at high speeds.

“As China’s largest digital TV provider, we are committed to working with the best technologies in the world, and as such we have chosen Siano’s MDTV receiver for this product” commented Yuan Ming, the President from Coship. “Our GPS products are now ranked among the top five brands in China, and as we are rapidly expanding to overseas markets as well, selecting Siano’s solution enables us not only to present the best DVB-T experience today, but also establish a long line of product roadmap that will benefit from the multi-standard capabilities and high-quality of the Siano receivers, expanding in the future to technologies like CMMB (China), ISDB-T (Japan, Brazil) and more.”

Alon Ironi, CEO of Siano, added, “GPS device makers that intend to increase their market share integrate mobile TV into their new devices. This is a great re-use of the LCD and the graphics processor already inside such devices – so, with just a minor increment to the bill-of-materials, they add an attractive new feature to their products. End users love it.”

“The collaboration between Siano and Coship is fulfilling our fundamental vision of bringing mobile TV to every-day products,” added Ironi. “This partnership will yield more products, expanding into new mobile TV technologies and regions in the near future.”

Coship’s CPND-4303A is presented this week at the IBC conference in Amsterdam, in Siano’s booth (booth number 592 in the mobile zone).
