LAS VEGAS — NAB Show 2024 — 24i, the video streaming platform expert, today announced that Covington Entertainment Group is deploying the 24i Video Cloud for OTT service providers to support the debut of Culture Entertainment Network, a new service that offers a unique lineup of reality TV, movies, lifestyle shows and TV series. By offering multiple service tiers, viewers can select the way they want to consume their favorite content, while 24i Video Cloud provides insights into viewing behavior for deeper consumer engagement and more informed decision-making.
To effectively launch a new OTT service, Covington was looking for technology partners to meet their needs in supporting multiple revenue models and device platforms, flexibility to pivot as necessary, and rapid time-to-market requirements. Because 24i Video Cloud is pre-integrated with Amagi’s playout solutions and Cleeng’s subscriber management, it was an easy decision for Covington. Plus 24i Video Cloud’s Backstage serves as the powerful backend tool that supports ingestion and management of metadata and images.
“We are building a full-service film entertainment company that offers best-in-class experiences, so I am excited to add Culture Entertainment Network as a major piece of this vision,” said Michael Covington, CEO of Covington Entertainment Group. “Entering a crowded streaming market is challenging, which is why we are confident that 24i and its partners can deliver the adaptability and data analytics to help fuel our subscriber, content and revenue growth. It’s great to work with companies that have this level of proven experience.”
The 24i Video Cloud is a streaming video platform that delivers valuable, scalable and customizable OTT and Pay TV consumer offerings. Advanced content and metadata management, AI-powered personalization and flexible business model APIs enable service providers to stay ahead of the curve with viewer-centric experiences that can be modified in real-time without the need for coding. Culture Entertainment Network is capitalizing on the platform’s content discovery and smarter search features that have shown significant results in viewer engagement. In fact, based on data from 24i Video Cloud, new users who interact with recommendations watch on average 93% more minutes of content in their first month than those who didn’t interact with recommendations.
“Competition among video services has really intensified due to an unprecedented number of providers seeking to capture consumer interest. It’s our job to help our customers differentiate – whether it is with an irresistible UX, efficient operations for better margins, or powerful data to understand what viewers want,” said Donald McGarva, CEO of 24i and its parent company Aferian plc. “We are proud to help Culture Entertainment Group achieve its goal of providing high-quality, engaging content that people love to watch.”
At launch, the Culture Entertainment Network Streaming App will operate with all devices on the web, iOS, Android Mobile and AndroidTV, Roku and FireTV. Apple TV, Samsung, LG and Vizio connected TVs will be available soon.
24i will be demonstrating 24i Video Cloud for OTT and PayTV service providers at the NAB Show 2024.
