Smartlabs and Televarpið deliver streaming services to Faroe Islands
Televarpið, a part of Faroese Telecom Group, announced today that it has deployed a streaming video solution powered by Smartlabs.
As a seasoned provider of video streaming solutions to telecoms and media companies worldwide, Smartlabs delivered the following solutions and services:
- SmartTUBE Ultra solutions. Including the SmartTUBE Server and custom SmartTUBE Apps in Faroese, Danish, and English as well as SmartMEDIA Transcoding, Recording and Streaming and Smartlabs UDRM with support for Widevine and Fairplay.
- Legacy integration. Integrating older set-top boxes and enhancing the existing setup with SmartMEDIA transcoding, streaming, and storage solutions.
- TVaaS model. Implementing a TV as a Service business model to streamline service delivery.
- Modern Android set-top-boxes.
