Support for GPS and Geo-tagging for Portable Media Devices

Barcelona, Spain — ArcSoft, Inc. announced ArcSoft TotalMedia™ Mobile for Portable Navigation Devices today at the 3GSM World Congress 2007. With its latest Mobile Technology Solution, ArcSoft is able to provide its widely touted multimedia solutions for Global Positioning System (GPS) devices and other Portable Navigation Devices. Several existing TotalMedia Mobile components – including mobile media player, image viewer/editor, camera/camcorder, and mobile broadcast TV – have been customized for these devices and enhanced with geo-tagging support. OEM and ODM customers can select one or several components of the TotalMedia Mobile solution for their Portable Navigation Devices.

Each customizable component of ArcSoft TotalMedia™ Mobile for Portable Navigation Devices is augmented with geo-tagging support. The components are offered as Application Development Kits (ADKs), which include software component libraries, application logic flow, reference user interfaces, and development documents.

ArcSoft TotalMedia™ Mobile for Portable Navigation Devices Components (ADKs):

  • Mobile Media Player – music and video playback, streaming playback, and playlist management
  • Image Viewer/Editor – browser, album & thumbnail view, basic editor (rotate, crop, flip, brightness, contrast, saturation), auto-enhancement
  • Camera and Camcorder – capture, view, and geo-tag functionality for images and video clips; optional enhancement functionality
  • Mobile Broadcast TV – support for T-DMB/DAB and DVB-H standards
