Japan consults on extra spectrum for mobile TV

Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) has opened a consultation on whether to allocate additional spectrum to 1-seg ISDB-T mobile TV broadcasting after analogue switch off in 2011.

The spectrum under consideration is 90-108MHz, 170-222MHz and 710-770MHz in the VHF and UHF bands.
