Since June 1st, 2009, Spain’s FURIA (FUtura Red Integrada Audiovisual) project has been running a pilot in the city of Seville to perform validation testing on high-definition TV transmission via DVB-T2. The trial is the first of its kind in Spain.

FURIA is a project lead by Abertis Telecom with the participation of 27 organisations. The project began in June 2006 and is due to end in 2010.

For the pilot Abertis Telecom installed an 800W transmitter in its transmission centre in Valencina (Sevilla). The DVB-T2 receiver was provided by SIDSA.
