Monday, September 17th, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The global growth of TelcoTV services has demonstrated that significant opportunities exist. TelecomView’s new report “Opportunities in TelcoTV: Forecast & Market Shares – 2006 to 2012” sizes the available opportunities and identifies which companies are most likely to capitalize on it.

“We found that most of the top TelcoTV service providers have already selected their vendors,” stated Ian Cox, Principal Analyst at TelecomView. “However, there is still a $4.5 billion opportunity for TelcoTV systems going forward”.

This report provides forecasts to 2012 for Telco TV subscribers, service revenue, and system revenues for TelcoTV access systems, video on demand systems, middleware, content security, and set-top boxes. It also identifies market shares in each of these five areas and projects how these market positions will change through 2012. This approach identifies which service providers and which systems companies will end up leading the TelcoTV market.

This report is based on individual forecasts for more than 50 leading service providers globally and 50 systems companies that are equipping these service providers. The leading service providers account for nearly 90 percent of the market in 2012 and provides a good methodology for identifying the most important trends.

“While we found that well known companies such as Motorola, Microsoft, and Alcatel-Lucent will lead this industry” stated Bob Larribeau, Principal Analyst at TelecomView and author of the report. “We also found that less prominent companies such as UTStarcom, Netgem, and Verimatrix are also emerging as industry leaders.”

This 90-page report addresses these issues and provides the information and analysis that TelcoTV providers, system suppliers, and investors need to meet changing TelcoTV networking requirements.
