J:COM announces June 2013 subscriber figures
Friday, July 19th, 2013TOKYO, Japan — Jupiter Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (J:COM, JASDAQ: 4817), the largest multiple system operator (MSO) in Japan based on the number of customers served, has announced that the total subscribing households(*1) as of June 30, 2013 served by J:COM’s 11 consolidated subsidiaries(*2) reached 3.78 million, up 94,100 or 2.6% from June 30, 2012. Combined revenue generating units (RGUs) for cable television, high speed Internet access and telephony services reached approximately 7.74 million, up 374,400 or 5.1% from June 30, 2012(*3). The bundle ratio(*4) increased to 2.05 as of June 30, 2013 from 2.00 as of June 30, 2012.

The impact of the integration resulted in decreases of 300 Cable Television subscription, 200 high-speed Internet access subscription, 200 telephony subscription, 700 RGU total and 300 subscribing households in June 2013.
