Mexico buys 120,000 digital televisions
Wednesday, February 19th, 2014Mexico’s Ministry of Communications and Transportation (Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes – SCT) has said that it has purchased 120,000 digital television sets for deployment in the cities of Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa, in Tamaulipas state, as part of the country’s switch over to digital terrestrial television (DTT) broadcasting.
The TVs are to be provided by Diamond Electronics and Grupo HTCJ & Asociados S.A de CV (Foxconn Baja California), with each supplying 60,000 units. Deliveries are due to begin on March 9th.
