Czech republic begins UltraHD trial broadcasting over DVB-T2

České Radiokomunikace (CRa) and Českou televizí (Czech TV – ČT) have announced that on May 13th they began test broadcasting in Ultra HDTV format over CRa’s DVB-T2 network.
The service is being transmitted from the Žižkov Television Tower in Prague on channel 50, in a continuous loop of 1 minute 17 seconds duration. Initially the trial uses MPEG-4 compression, with HEVC transmissions planned for the second half of this year.
The project is expected to complete in November.
