NEOTION demonstrates with VERIMATRIX a new generation of “OTT ready” CI PLUS 1.3 CAMs
AUBAGNE — NEOTION and VERIMATRIX demonstrate at ANGA COM that the new generation of NEOTION CI PLUS 1.3 CAM plugged into a Connected and HbbTV compliant environment enables Operators to improve their Pay-TV linear offer with secure and fully managed Over-The-Top (OTT) services in a single and friendly device.
Integrating OTT services – such as on-demand services, catch-up, VOD… – alongside traditional Pay-TV features is no more questioned by Pay-TV operators as well as the HbbTV standard largely adopted in Europe and beyond is the de facto standard for enhancing broadcast centric services with innovative new functionalities.
Mostly supported by the last generation of Connected TV set, the HbbTV v1.5 standard filled a gap in terms of Quality of Service (QoS) and is on the right way to successfully deal with high-resolution streams in the next future with the new 2.0 version.
Using the DRM agent in the Connected TV set, the CI PLUS 1.3 CAM – supporting Specific Application Support (SAS) CI PLUS resource and VERIMATRIX VCASTM revenue security solution – ensures Pay-TV Operators that they will keep control over their DRM protected contents and subscribers bases and offers.
The NEOTION CI PLUS 1.3 CAM is the secure bridge allowing subscriber authentication and providing access to new OTT services – once subscriber rights securely identified – between the HbbTV application and the operator on-demand content back-end using the IP interface and existing broadband network in home.
The Operator HbbTV application running on the TV set is a key element as the harmonized and personalized User Interface (UI) enhancing TV viewing for subscribers with enriched and simple user experience.
