More than 660,000 subscribers to GOL TELEVISIÓN; The number is set to rise considerably

GOL TELEVISION, Spain’s first DTT subscription channel, has reached the figure of 665,000 subscribers. 18 days after the launch of broadcasts as a Premium channel, more than 15,000 people have signed up for the DTT subscription channel, with another 650,000 via channel platform operators (ONO, GRUPO R, TELECABLE, EUSKALTEL, IMAGENIO, JAZZTEL and ORANGE). With the decoders and CAMs now more widely available, the number of subscribers is set to go up considerably. According to manufacturers’ figures, from next week, the numbers of decoders and CAM’s will rise to 25,000 units a week.

In order to access the channel content viewers must have a latest generation TV with a specific slot for a PCMCIA module connection or acquire a Set Top Box decoder. In both cases a user card is also needed. In the event of having a TV with a PCMCIA connection, a decoder is not needed. The first STB’s and cards are now widely available at a host of retail outlets including big superstores, shopping centres and specialized shops. The monthly subscription fee for GOL Television will be 14.90 euros.

Alongside the launch of GOL TELEVISION as Spain’s first DTT subscription channel, MEDIAPRO has also created a channel exclusive to bars, GOL BAR, which already has more than 3,000 subscribers.
