KPN adds HDTV to its IPTV service

DEN HAAG — KPN has launched high-definition (HD) TV on its Interactieve TV IPTV service. The new service consists of 10 HD channels: Nederland 1, 2 and 3, Net5, SBS6, Veronica, Flemish channels Één and Canvas Ketnet, and thematic channels Discovery HD and Animal Planet HD.

Interactieve TV runs over KPN’s VDSL network which covers 80% of the country. Interactieve TV set-top boxes are already HD capable.
