Ocean Blue Powers Next Generation Sharp TVs
Saturday, October 6th, 2007BRISTOL, England — Ocean Blue Software, the specialist digital TV software developer, has won a contract to integrate its Voyager MHEG-5 software into the next generation of TVs from Sharp. The new Sharp IDTV hardware platform runs on Trident digital decoders and video processor chips, powering their HiDTV Pro LX and SVP WX.
This combination of Ocean Blue software and Trident video decoding and processing technology means the finished Sharp LCDTVs will conform to all DTG 1.06 MHEG test suites and meet the criteria for the UK Digital Tick standards. It will also be High Definition ready and support both 50Hz and 100Hz displays with the latest motion compensation technology for a smooth, judder-free viewing experience. The development project spanned Japan, UK, Taiwan and America.

Ocean Blue’s Voyager software system MHEG-5 & DSM-CC is the result of a more than 10 man-year development project and is fully tested and in production. The MHEG-5 & DSM-CC software was developed in the standard C programming language and is thus portable to many different operating systems and hardware computing platforms.
