PARIS — Viaccess, a France Telecom (Paris and NYSE: FTE) company and leader in content security, and its subsidiary Orca interactive, a leading innovative provider of IPTV middleware and content discovery solutions, announced today that they will demonstrate their proven IPTV ecosystem with set-top box manufacturer Yuxing and quality of experience (QoE) specialist Mariner Partners during IBC 2010, September 9-14 in Amsterdam. The collaboration enables Belgian operator and integrator Alpha Networks’ global IPTV solution, turnKeyTV. The white label triple-play solution was created by Alpha Networks to help operators worldwide reduce the risk, time to market and investments for deploying triple-play offers.

At IBC 2010, visitors at the Orca booth (2.B40) will see a turnKeyTV demonstration, which includes Live TV, EPG, VOD, SVOD, and CPVR services. The demonstration also features a wholesale mode, where various service providers can provide a branded TV service over the same platform. This mode was implemented in the Alpha Networks project.

Mariner’s Service Monitoring solution, xVu™, will also be showcased at the Orca booth. Mariner will demonstrate new features designed to provide service assurance that helps IPTV providers grow their service offerings cost-effectively while reducing churn.

François Moreau de Saint Martin, CEO of Viaccess, said: “Viaccess and Orca Interactive bring together a successful IPTV solution in the Alpha Networks package. In a market where timing is critical, our combined solution helps operators and integrators like Alpha Networks gain a competitive advantage with a proven solution.”

Haggai Barel, CEO of Orca Interactive, added: “The partnership model has been very successful in the IPTV market place. By extending this into a white label solution, many operators around the world will now have the proven tools to deploy their own services. We strongly applaud and support Alpha Networks’ initiative and look forward to a successful partnership in the years to come.”

Tristan Dumont de Chassart, CEO of Alpha Networks, said: “We are very pleased to demonstrate the first white label, ready to use, multi-play and multi-screen solution. Our expertise as an integrator and telecom operator, running a network on a day-to-day basis, allows us to propose this unique solution. This service can be deployed without investments, in a faster time frame, and without any risks in the deployment phase by using a proven ecosystem. In addition to the technology, our team of experts is specialized in live TV rights negotiations to deliver the best channel package to the local client.”

In March 2010, Billi, an innovative new Belgian triple play operator, was the first converged operator to launch its unlimited triple-play service in the Belgian market with turnKeyTV. The triple play service was designed to challenge traditional operators by offering IPTV plus unlimited telephony and Internet access at an affordable price.

The pre-integrated IPTV service developed by Alpha Networks for Billi is powered by Viaccess’ Conditional Access/DRM solution, combined with Orca’s RiGHTV middleware. The IPTV service features 60 channels and offers live pause and PVR facilities and three-screen user experience leveraging Viaccess and Orca’s fully integrated IPTV suite.
