Viaccess secures content on Sagemcom's satellite HD recorder/3D Blu-Ray player
Wednesday, September 7th, 2011PARIS — Sagemcom, a leader in high added value communication terminals with a recognized expertise in the development and manufacturing of digital set-top boxes, and Viaccess, a France Telecom (Paris: FTE; NYSE: FTE) group company and leader in conditional access and DRM systems, have joined forces to design an innovative 3D-ready satellite recorder with 3D Blu-ray player and embedded Viaccess conditional access to secure broadcast content.
Sagemcom’s BPRSI88-250 HD twin-tuner high definition satellite recorder is equipped with a 250 GB hard disk and a 3D Blu-ray player. It can play most audio, video and photos formats from the hard disk, the Blu-ray or via its USB port or SD card reader. The recorder’s Ethernet port makes it possible to access Over The Top services, such as Video On Demand and Catch-Up TV.
Broadcasters can rely on Viaccess’ advanced content security solutions (CA and DRM) implemented on this innovative satellite receiver to launch best of breed hybrid services combining high quality linear-TV over satellite with On Demand and à la carte services over The Internet.
The product has been launched this summer in France and will be showcased at IBC (Amsterdam, September 9th to 13th) on Sagemcom booth.
