SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Zenverge, a leading developer of advanced content networking ICs, today announced that its ZN200 quad HD content networking SOC powers the TiVo® Stream, a sophisticated transcoding platform that connects TiVo Premiere multiroom digital video recorders (DVRs) with other IP-connected devices. Relying on the ZN200’s powerful multistream networked transcoding technology, TiVo Stream enables television viewers owning a TiVo Premiere DVR to stream and download high-quality live and recorded content simultaneously to multiple wireless devices on the home network.
“Consumers enjoy the flexibility of watching their favorite programs throughout the home and on the road,” said Jim Denney, V.P. of product marketing, TiVo Inc. “Zenverge provides us with the advanced quad HD transcoding capabilities we need to deliver full HD video cost-effectively to the most popular tablets and mobile phones.”
The TiVo Stream IP adapter and TiVo Premiere multiroom DVR provide a ubiquitous entertainment experience by simplifying home networking and providing a feature-rich TiVo user interface. TiVo Stream leverages Zenverge’s ZN200 TransAll transcoding engine to offer superior video processing and networking technology by transcoding up to four HD video streams securely and seamlessly with CableLabs-approved TiVoGuard™. In addition, Zenverge’s unique TransZip™ high-speed processing provides users with the ability to download recorded television content to their smartphones and tablet devices quickly for sync-n-go applications.
TiVo Stream will be available in retail and on Tivo.com. In North America, consumer electronics retailer Best Buy will market the innovative new product to provide consumers with a true HD viewing experience anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
“Consumers today demand a consistent user experience across a wide range of devices, including TVs, mobile phones, and tablets,” said Raghu Rao, E.V.P. of worldwide sales and business development, Zenverge. “Partnering with TiVo, we’re able to transform the traditional set-top box into a gateway-centric solution that supports HD viewing on mobile phones and tablets.”
