New Lines of ATSC/NTSC/QAM PC TV USB Sticks and ExpressCards Deploy World’s Most Highly Integrated Silicon TV Tuner

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Xceive Corporation, the market leader in hybrid silicon tuners for television, PCs and the digital home, announced today that Hauppauge Computer Works, a division of Hauppauge Digital, Inc. [NASDAQ: HAUP], the world leader in PC TV technology, has selected the XC5000 for its WinTV-HVR-950Q USB and WinTV-HVR-1500 ExpressCard PC TV receivers.

With unmatched performance, unsurpassed reliability and innovative features, the XC5000 supports not only worldwide digital and analog terrestrial broadcasting standards but also clear QAM reception for digital cable TV broadcasts. The new Hauppauge PC TV receivers will be available in US retail channels starting Q1 2008.

A leading developer and manufacturer of analog and digital TV receivers for personal computers, Hauppauge’s WinTV products allow PC users to watch and record analog and digital TV shows on their PC screens. The addition of the XC5000 to Hauppauge’s PC TV tuners allows users to watch and record ATSC HD digital TV, analog TV or ‘clear QAM’ unencrypted digital cable TV on a PC or laptop computer. With its low power consumption and small footprint, the XC5000 rounds out the ultimate viewing experience by enabling space and power-constrained applications to ensure that viewers enjoy better analog and digital TV reception. Such compact, portable applications will enable PC TV at home or on the go, anytime and anywhere.

“The XC5000 brings lower power, clear QAM reception and higher sensitivity and selectivity to our new WinTV products,” said Bruce Willins, Vice-President of Engineering at Hauppauge. “With the added functionality and superior performance of the XC5000, we are positioned to provide a new level of video quality experience for our PC TV customers.”

“With Xceive’s QAM256 capability and high performance A/V reception embedded into Hauppauge’s new line of PC TV receivers, consumers will notice a marked improvement in their entertainment experience using PCs and laptop computers,” said Neil Mitchell, Vice-President of Marketing at Xceive. “Given Hauppauge’s recognized leadership position in PC TV technology, the inclusion of the XC5000 is a nod to Xceive’s ability to drive higher performance and surpass the quality expectations of today’s consumer.”

The XC5000 meets and exceeds industry standards with: A/74, Nordig, CENELEC and open cable. Its highly integrated architecture includes analog demodulation, needs no external SAW filter and will benefit customers with lower BOM cost and simplified system design.
