Novabase Digital TV Technologies and ACCESS STB Labs will work together to provide a complete box solution to enable Value-added Services and targeted advertisements

BANGALORE, India — Novabase Digital TV Technologies, GmbH, owned by Novabase, the Portuguese leader in IT, and ACCESS STB Labs, Digital TV Software Solution Lab, based out of Bangalore India, today announced the development of SIP-based set-top box on ALi M3281 that supports multiple conditional access security (CAS) and help cable operators deliver value added services to grow their ARPU.

India is considered as a low ARPU (average revenue per user) market and MSO would be required to offer a better service keeping the costs low. This compels MSOs to explore opportunities outside subscription revenues for growth. Seeing this need, Novabase Digital TV Technologies with its well-known system in package (SIP) technology for various chipset, has now chosen STB labs iMediaConnect to build solutions on ALi Corporations’s M3281 platform. ACCESS STB Labs middleware is rightly suited to equip operators with the capability to offer value-added services in less time.

Both companies have engaged in a long term partnership to build solutions on Novabase Digital TV Technologies SiP and STB labs middleware. The first project is on Ali’s SD 3281 platform and integration of iMediaConnect, interactive middleware solutions from ACCESS STB Labs, which will allow operators to deliver good looking EPG, value-added services and advertisements in a most cost effective way.

To address a broad range of customers, Novabase Digital TV Technologies and STB Labs will work together with multiple CAS vendors and build the complete deployable solution. This would allow MSO’s to go ahead and deploy the boxes in field with minimal effort with their own CAS. The new STB solution on ALi 3281 will be available from Q1 2014.

Sasikanth, Founder and CEO at ACCESS STB Labs, states, “STB Labs is pleased to partner with Novabase Digital TV Technologies in a long relation to build turnkey solutions. The partnership will see Novabase Digital TV technologies’s SiP being integrated with iMediaConnect from STB labs on multiple chipsets. We are confident that Novabase Digital TV Technologies’ SIP based MPEG 4 SD product on ALi 3281 and STB labs middleware will create tailored solutions for operators that enable them to generate higher ARPU.”

Michael Pauli, Managing Director of Novabase Digital TV Technologies comments, “Novabase is excited to partner with ACCESS STB Labs to build cost effective solutions on our innovative SiP form factor products. STB labs middleware and Novabase Digital TV solutions would help service providers to drive their ARPU with value added services and targeted advertising.

Live demonstration of the STB solution integrated with ACCESS STB Labs’ solutions will be available at STB Labs booth at C13 at 22nd Convergence India 2014, taking place on January 21-23, 2014 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
