Thursday, March 6th, 2014Piksel Selected to Empower VRT’s Syndication OTT Platform
NEW YORK, NY — Piksel, a global provider of video monetization software and services, has been commissioned by VRT, Belgium’s national public television broadcaster, to deliver a landmark over-the-top television (OTT) solution. The project will allow VRT to satisfy the growing need for video-on-demand (VOD), catch-up and live content on multiple devices.
Specifically, a customized syndication end-to-end solution, based on Piksel’s award-winning video content management system (VCMS), will be developed for VRT. The service will automatically deliver catch-up programming to viewers and to other external distributors (e.g. Telco operators), allowing them to reach a wider audience.
“This is a very important project for VRT, and one that takes our business to the forefront of technology in this industry. During the selection process it was important for us to choose a company who had consistently shown quality in the solutions proposed, reliability in their capabilities, deep knowledge of the space and innovation in their thinking. The Piksel team came out on top on all accounts and we’re very excited to work on this project with them,” said Tom Caljon, Project Manager at VRT.
“We’re thrilled VRT have chosen Piksel to ensure their station is future-ready. Recognizing that today’s loyalty comes from a strong digital media offering, VRT have anticipated the viewer, planning ahead to become market leader. VRT has been, and will continue to be, an important customer of Piksel and we’re thrilled to work on this B2C and B2B project with them,” said Marco Frigerio, VP Sales at Piksel.
Piksel will provide the entire end-to-end solution architecture, underpinned by a single back-end platform, Piksel VCMS, in charge of orchestrating the overall workflows, along with EPG and metadata management up to the publishing on multiple devices.
Meet with Piksel People such as Marco Frigerio at TV Connect 2014 in London, UK, March 18-20, 2014 by booking an appointment online. Follow us during the event using @Piksel and join the discussion with #TVConnect.
The solution is anticipated to launch in 2014.
