ISLAMABAD and London — Telenor Pakistan, the second largest and fastest growing cellular company of Pakistan, has taken yet another step towards providing value-added services to its customers by introducing the first of its kind service in Pakistan: Telenor Mobile TV. This service enables customers to watch live TV including local and international channels on their handsets. With Telenor Mobile TV, Telenor customers are now the only privileged ones who are able to avail such a unique service.

Chief Technical Officer Telenor Pakistan Peter Anthony Dindial, excited about the milestone achievement, said: “No longer is mobile TV confined to only 3G operators. With this industry-first service, delivered on Pakistan’s Largest GPRS/EDGE platform, Telenor customers can view multiple channels right on their handsets, making the Telenor customer truly special.” He added: “We are intent at making it easy for our customers to use advanced services and utilize the real potential of Telenor’s available technology and the quality of its network.”

Director Marketing Telenor Pakistan Azim-ul-Haq, giving details of Telenor Mobile TV, said: “After launching extremely popular products like Telenor Easyload and Telenor Smart Share Service, we are proud to bring TV to the handset screens of our customers. Telenor Mobile TV comes with a great mix of news, entertainment, music and sports channels – offered to all our prepaid and postpaid customers.” He added: “Products like Mobile TV can only be supported and delivered once there is an extensive GPRS/ EDGE network in place.
