China's digital cable TV subscribers totaled 24.62 million in 4Q07; CA consolidates
Friday, February 15th, 2008Analysys International research has shown that in the fourth quarter of 2007, China’s cable digital TV subscribers totaled 24.62 million, with digital TV subscriber growth slightly lower than in the third quarter, but still at a comparatively high rate.
For CA vendors, in the fourth quarter of 2007 the competitive landscape did not change significantly – Beijing Novel-Tongfang/China Digital TV Holding (NYSE: STV), Digital Video Networks (DVN Group) and Irdeto (JSE: NPN) retained the first three places, followed by NDS Group, Sumavision, Nagravision (SWX:KUD.VX) and Compunicate. The market share accounted for by the top three has continued to increase in line with the trend for consolidation in the market.
