MStar adopts TQTVD Ginga STB middleware for Latin America

MStar Announces TQTVD’s Ginga Software Solution on Set-Top-Box Platform to support Analog Switch-off Transition in Latin America market
MStar Semiconductor, Inc., a leading semiconductor company for TV, set-top-box, display and digital home solutions, has adopted TQTVD’s Ginga Software Solution to support the switchover from analog to digital broadcasting in Latin America market, especially in Brazil Analog Switch-off (ASO) Transition.
TQTVD, a Brazilian company of TOTVS Group, will offer its Ginga solution, AstroTV+, on MStar STB chipset which provides a full function system solution to Latin America market and also meets Brazilian government requirements during ASO program.
The MStar’s MPEG-4/MPEG-2 HD ISDB-T chipsets offer a highly optimized set-top-box SoC platform for the Brazilian market, capable of running Ginga applications developed in NCL, Lua or Java, which are the standards for interactivity in Brazil’s digital TV. The Ginga middleware is mandated by the Brazilian government for Brazil set-top boxes ASO program.
