Brazil opens consultation on specifications for Ginga C middleware

BRASILIA — Brazil’s national standards body, the ABNT (Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas), has opened public consultation on technical specifications for Ginga C, the next version of the country’s digital television middleware.
Ginga C will add support for playing videos and will also allow access to the internet via the set-top box USB port.
Contributions may be made within 30 days via the ABNT website.
