- Collaboration makes it easy for Asia-based content owners to address the world’s largest connected TV ecosystem
OSLO, Norway, and SINGAPORE — Vewd, the global market leader enabling OTT, and iVideoSmart, the No OPEX and No CAPEX solution provider to videotize any online property, have partnered to provide content creators, broadcasters, and publishers a fast and easy path to expand their reach through streaming video.
As part of its vision to help video owners distribute their content everywhere, iVideoSmart integrated Vewd Snap, which creates a TV app that works on Vewd enabled devices. The turnkey solution of iVideoSmart and Vewd Snap offers a fast path to access the world’s largest connected TV ecosystem – 50 million Vewd-enabled devices shipping each year in more than 150 countries.
“We continue to execute our vision to make online video easy for our partners,” said Vincent Martin, Chief Operating Officer, iVideoSmart. “Our partnership with Vewd allows us to offer our partners a no-risk solution to start monetizing their content on TVs in minutes.”
iVideoSmart is a key partner in bringing Asia- and Latin America-based content owners into the Vewd ecosystem. iVideoSmart handles the end-to-end complexity of online video from ingestion of content to hosting, through management and distribution via Vewd Snap. Vewd Snap delivers an HTML5 app that is distributed through the Vewd App Store and can be monetized as the content owner chooses. This process removes any commercial and technical complexity that stands between content owners and the vast, global Vewd ecosystem.
Leading manufacturers like Sony, Tivo, HiSense, Vestel and more rely on Vewd to bring streaming video apps to consumers. Working together, iVideoSmart and Vewd provide content owners a one-stop shop to get their app built, distributed, managed and monetized, fully based on revenue share.
Already the partnership has helped some of the world’s leading broadcasters and content providers bring their OTT strategy to market quickly. Companies like GMA 7, Cachicachi, NetViet TV, AriRang TV, Canal Futura, have discovered new streaming audiences by distributing their apps in the Vewd App Store.
“Smart TV and OTT is growing rapidly in the Asia-Pacific region, with estimates showing smart TV market growth at almost 9% annually,” said Daniel Nordberg, SVP Partnerships, Vewd. “iVideosmart is the perfect partner to help us address this growing market and bridge the gap between content owners and consumers on connected TV devices.”
