Telekom Austria (aonTV) Results for the First Quarter 2008

VIENNA — Telekom Austria Group (VSE: TKA, OTC US: TKAGY) today announced its results for the first quarter 2008 ending March 31, 2008.

EBITDA decreased by 19.0% to EUR 157.3 million in the 1Q ’08 due to higher costs, which also included a one-off expense in the amount of EUR 12 million for sales promotions, hardware upgrades and the preparation for the UEFA EURO 2008™. The exchange of MPEG-2 set-top-boxes with MPEG-4 set-top-boxes for existing aonTV customers as well as preparation activities of the UEFA EURO 2008™ resulted in additional costs contributing to the one-off expense mentioned above.
aonTV had 38,600 customers at the end of March 2008, with household coverage at 52%.
