M-net opts for IPTV from ocilion: Munich network operator relies on on-premises solution

Bavaria’s leading fiber optic provider M-net is further developing its IPTV offering and has decided in favor of the ocilion solution. The two companies announced this in the run-up to the ANGA COM trade fair. The complete IPTV solution tailored by ocilion for M-net includes, among other things, the provision of 4K-capable IPTV receivers, first and second screen apps in the design of M-net with innovative features such as replay and Net PVR as well as extensive content packages.

As Bavaria’s leading fiber optic provider, M-net supplies not only the metropolitan areas of Munich, Augsburg and Erlangen but also many other parts of Bavaria, the greater Ulm area and the Hessian Main-Kinzig district with innovative communication technologies. Customers get everything from a single source: high-speed internet, landline telephony, mobile communications and television. In addition to traditional cable television, M-net has been offering its own IPTV product for private customers for around five years with “TVplus”. Thanks to the new partnership between M-net and the IPTV specialist ocilion, this internet-based TV connection is now being further developed and expanded with numerous features.

The high-performance fiber optic network from M-net provides the best prerequisites for implementing high-performance, cloud-based IPTV solutions such as the turnkey complete system from ocilion and making them accessible to its customers. This year they can benefit from the expansion of the “TVplus” offer and receive a full TV connection including 4K receiver, first and second screen apps, an intuitive user interface, modern Net PVR recording function and attractive channel packages from M-net.

The on-premises solution is hosted in the network and the existing infrastructure of M-net and also enables M-net to individually expand the IPTV bouquet with TV signals as required. For system adjustments and updates, ocilion has a comprehensive laboratory world in which innovations can be tested in advance before they are activated and played out for customers.
