SkyShowtime to launch in the Netherlands and Portugal on 25 October

Streaming service SkyShowtime will launch in both the Netherlands and Portugal on 25 October 2022, bringing its premium offering of exclusive and iconic entertainment to Dutch and Portuguese homes for the first time.
The launches follow SkyShowtime’s much-anticipated official launch across the Nordics last month.
Customers will have access to exclusive television premieres of first-run theatrical films, new and exclusive scripted series, kids and family content and a selection of iconic library titles and box sets from Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, SHOWTIME®, Sky Studios and Peacock – all streaming in one place. SkyShowtime will also feature local original programming, documentaries and specials from its markets.
From launch, customers in the Netherlands and Portugal can stream Halo, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, American Gigolo, 1883, Yellowstone S1-4 (with the hotly anticipated Yellowstone S5 coming soon), The Rising, The Fear Index, Let The Right One In, The Offer, Law & Order Season 21 and The Midwich Cuckoos. Movies including The Lost City and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will also be readily available.
Over the coming months, SkyShowtime will be the home to a selection of new blockbuster films following their theatrical and home entertainment release, including Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Nope, The Bad Guys, Downton Abbey: A New Era, The Northman, Ambulance, The Hanging Sun and Redeeming Love. Series premieres of A Friend of the Family and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin will also be hitting customers screens later this year.
SkyShowtime CEO Monty Sarhan said: “Following our successful launch last month in the Nordics, we are excited to continue our European roll-out. SkyShowtime will launch in two new markets on 25 October – the Netherlands and Portugal – bringing consumers exclusive access to the latest series and movie premieres from our iconic, world-class studios.”
The service will be available direct-to-consumer via the websitem and through the SkyShowtime app across Apple iOS, tvOS, Android devices, Android TV, Google TV and LG TV. SkyShowtime’s monthly price will be 6.99 EUROS in the Netherlands and 4.99 EUROS in Portugal.
The Dutch and Portuguese launches follow SkyShowtime’s much-anticipated official launch across the Nordics last month. SkyShowtime will continue its expansion into Spain and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) over the coming months and through Q1 2023. CEE markets include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.
