Russia's North-West Telecom has 6,000 IPTV subscribers

The number of OJSC N.W.Telecom’s subscribers using the service of the broadband access to the Internet has exceeded 700,000.

The marketing initiatives and unique rate proposals of OJSC N.W.Telecom have made the Internet access a mass service accessible to residents and enterprise s of the North-West of Russia. At the same time, we continue our movement forward and the development of the most up-to-date broadband access services. We were one of the first companies in Russia to launch IPTV for commercial operation in December 2007, and now we already have almost 6,000 connections. At the end of the last year we started the commercial operation of Triple Play services on the basis of the PON technology”, Oleg Popov said.

The service of broadband access to the Internet using the xDSL technology is intended for both individual and corporate clients. As the trends of the connections show, the service is in keen demand among the target audience. Late in 2006 the number of the broadband access subscribers of OJSC N.W.Telecom was a little more than 90,000, by the end of 2007 their number increased to 300,000, and in the last days of December 2008 it exceeded 600,000 connections.
