Friend MTS Chosen by United Media to Provide Protection Against Streaming Piracy
Content and revenue protection specialist Friend MTS announced today that it has been chosen by United Media, proprietor of the most popular cable channels in Southeast Europe, to provide advanced antipiracy solutions. United Media is part of United Group, the leading telecommunications and media platform in Southeast Europe operating in all six countries of former Yugoslavia.
“The Friend MTS security services will be used across our flagship channels, including Sport Klub 1, Sport Klub 2, Sport Klub 3, TOP, Grand, N1, and Cinemania,” said Aleksandra Subotić, CEO of United Media. “We take content protection very seriously as we produce and broadcast exclusively premium sports, movies, music and series, and we need this content to be fully protected in order to be monetized.”
The United Media channels are protected by Friend MTS’ global channel monitoring, using fingerprint-based automatic content recognition, as well as subscriber-level identification, which pinpoints the source of the streaming piracy.
“The highest level of security is especially important with live sports and premium entertainment channels,” said Chris White, Operations Director at Friend MTS. “By proactively protecting against streaming piracy, we enable broadcasters to secure their audiences and revenues.”
Visitors to NAB 2018 will be able to see demonstrations of how the Friend MTS service portfolio stops piracy across broadcast and OTT applications.
