Orders of Intelligent Cards Exceed 500,000 Pieces

In May 2008, DVN Group, a wholly owned subsidiary company of DVN (Holdings) Limited (SEHK: 500), made another tremendous progress in its digital television business in China. In the bidding of the CA System Simulcrypt for digital television in Jilin Province, DVN CA system defeated its strong rivals and won the bid. The contract involves 500,000 pieces of intelligent cards for CA System and a sales order of approximately 500,000 set-top boxes will follow up in the coming days.

Jilin has ever used CA system from abroad in the past years. At the beginning of this year, the No. 1 document of State Council was released, requiring that all the Radio & Television operators should adopt at least one national brand CA system. Since then Jilin Province has been inviting public bidding for the CA System Simulcrypt from manufacturers across the country. Under such circumstances, DVN managed to seize the opportunity and won the bid at one stroke, relying on its reliable technologies and perfect service quality.

There are approximately 2 million CATV subscribers across Jilin Province, taking uniform digital television system at provincial and municipal level. Operators at provincial level will take charge of the general front end building of the system. Digitalization of 0.8 million CAAT subscribers is scheduled to be completed in 2008. The winning of the bid this time helps spread DVN products throughout the three Northeastern provinces in China. As the only national brand of CA system accepted in Jilin Province, the DVN products have extended its influence across the province and even throughout areas in Northeast China.
