WarnerMedia taps Alpha Networks for the development and editorialization of its SVOD service Toonami Max

BRAINE L’ALLEUD, Belgium — Alpha Networks has been selected by WarnerMedia to manage both the publication and dynamic editorialization of content for its Toonami Max SVOD service through tucano – the modular back-end, as well as the development of the front-end application, which is now available for all Orange subscribers.

Toonami Max, a new ergonomic UI for the superhero SVOD service

The user interface design has been created by Alpha Networks’ HXperience. The design studio offers white label front-end applications that can be easily and quickly customized following any brands’ guidelines.

With a strong experience in developing ad hoc thematic apps for kids and youngsters, HXP design studio together with WarnerMedia and Orange teams, developed premium visual designs for an engaging user-centric experience.

Thanks to this improved application, superhero fans can find all the content of Toonami through a modernized and more fluid service bringing together a catalogue of 400 titles available anytime: the best of DC animated series and films (Batman, Superman, Young Justice) and Marvel (Spiderman and Ironman), the Super-Heroines (Harley Quinn, Wonder Woman), Japanese animated series (Dragon Ball Super, My Hero Academia) and also wrestling superpowers with the AEW League.

Content Animation: a dynamic content editorialization tool to enhance the user experience

As part of the process of forging a new identity for Toonami Max, a prerequisite for WarnerMedia was to get an easy-to-use back-office tool for the operational teams to handle content publications and animation.

“Alpha Networks has developed the solutions we required to meet the needs and consumption patterns of the fans of our SVOD service Toonami Max: ultra-connected users always craving for new content. The dexterity and responsiveness of the Content Animation feature by Alpha Networks makes it easier and faster to interact with subscribers, by allowing them to choose the content that suits them while delivering it with a pleasant and ergonomic design.”, says Bertrand Schontz, Director of distribution and operations for the French-speaking territories, Israel & Africa at WarnerMedia Networks.

What’s more, Content animation is a completely collaborative tool, enabling a number of different people in a team to access, edit and share digital libraries simultaneously.

“Alpha Networks provides a powerful feature to support editors in their daily job. Content animation is an all-in-one tool, allowing collaborative working, flexible publication of content thanks to accurate preview in editing mode and a vast list of design sets. We aim at becoming the strategic partner of content editors and facilitate the distribution of their services to operators”, says Guillaume Devezeaux, CMO at Alpha Networks.

Content animation is available as a module of tucano back-end. The functionality sits alongside and complements Content Hub, another key module within tucano that enables content aggregation from multiple sources and handles integration with external systems to prepare it for distribution.

Toonami is also available as a linear channel with a related catch-up offering.
