MECHELEN — Telenet announced today that it has passed the milestone of 250,000 digital TV customers. This success is partly due to the successful Christmas campaign that the Mechelen-based company ran.
At the same time, Telenet announced that it had carried out a successful software release at the end of January that made the Digicorder and the Digibox enhance their performance.
“If you bear in mind that these results were recorded in 2/3 of Flanders, that is a very good result”, says Jo Van Gorp, Executive Vice President Residential Marketing at Telenet. “We can see that interactive digital television is on its way to be accepted by the general public”.
At the end of January, Telenet also carried out a successful software release, which mainly enhanced the performance of the Digibox and Digicorder. “The launch of applications from stand-by, zapping and the start-up time of the electronic programme guide have become faster as a result of this release”, emphasises Jan Vorstermans, Executive Vice President Technology & Infrastructure Management at Telenet. “We are continuously working on innovation and regularly issue new software releases which we send to our digital customers’ set-top boxes via the cable”.
