Bluestreak Technology to Enable OTT Applications in Connected Devices for Panasonic Semiconductor

AMSTERDAM — IBC 2011 — Bluestreak Technology, the leader in Video Everywhere, announced today that Panasonic Corporation Semiconductor Company (NYSE:PC; Tokyo:6752) selected Bluestreak Technology’s MachBlue platform to power the company’s new over-the-top (OTT) video solution. The new offering enables set makers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide that utilize Panasonic chipsets in their connected televisions, digital media players, and Blu-ray players to immediately provide consumers with a suite of off-the-shelf video applications. The applications currently include content from popular providers such as Netflix, YouTube, BBC iPlayer, and BesTV. The MachBlue platform on Panasonic chipsets is also opening its environment to gaming, radio, and other rich media providers who would like their content and applications to be easily integrated with set makers and OEM customers in the future.

The offering enables pay-TV service providers and device manufacturers to choose services from a large a catalog of off-the-shelf OTT applications or add new custom applications to appeal to unique consumer markets. The solution is built upon Bluestreak Technology’s MachBlue platform which enables companies to rapidly deliver an outstanding video experience to any device.
