Anatel releases rules to minimise LTE interference to TV signals
Monday, July 14th, 2014
Brazilian telecoms regulator – Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (Anatel) – has proposed regulations governing the interaction of digital television signals and LTE-based mobile services.
The rules are intended to minimise interference to television signals in the 698MHz to 806MHz band once LTE mobile broadband services begin operating in the 700MHz frequency band.
The regulations propose a variety of remedies for signal interference depending on the type of television receiver experiencing the problem. Options include the addition of filters to mobile transmitters, the addition of filters to TV antennas, replacement or relocation of TV aerials, modifications to base station power, etc.
