Magyar Telekom adds 12,935 TV subscribers in 2Q 2021

BUDAPEST — Magyar Telekom (Reuters: MTEL.BU and Bloomberg: MTELEKOM HB), the leading Hungarian telecommunications service provider, today reported its consolidated financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2021, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as endorsed by the EU (hereinafter: half-year report).
The MT-Hungary segment operates in Hungary, providing mobile and fixed line telecommunications, TV distribution, information communication and system integration services to millions of residential and business customers under the Telekom and T-Systems brands. The North Macedonia segment is responsible for the Group’s full-scale mobile and fixed line telecommunications operations in North Macedonia.
TV revenues were up 7.5% year-on-year to HUF 14.0 billion in Q2 2021, primarily driven by the further strong expansion of the IPTV subscriber base in both countries of operation.
