Telefonica Europe pay TV subscribers continue to decline
May 8, 2013 — Telefónica (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) has released its first quarter (January to March) 2013 results. Pay TV accesses in Latin America reached 2.5 million, up 7% year-on-year. In Europe pay TV subscribers declined to 852 thousand from 1.03 million at the end of March 2012, a fall of 17%.

DIRECTV surpasses 16 million subscriber mark in Latin America
May 7, 2013 — DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) has announced results for the first quarter of 2013. DIRECTV U.S. subscribers were stable at around 20 million. DTVLA added 583,000 to end with 10.91 million subscribers and Sky Mexico had 5.41 million subscribers as of March 31, 2013.

Feb 28, 2013 — Telefónica (Madrid and NYSE: TEF) has released its fourth quarter and 2012 results. The company finished 2012 with 3.3 million pay TV subscribers, 0.8% up on the end of 2011. Losses in Europe and Brazil were offset by growth elsewhere in Latin America.

DIRECTV Latin America subscribers up 31% in 2012; U.S. flat at 20 million

DIRECTV U.S. ended the quarter with 20.08 million subscribers, an increase of 1% compared with December 31, 2011. DTVLA ended the quarter with 10.33 million subscribers, an increase of 31% compared with the end of 2011.
