80% of Smartphones Will Have Stereo 3D Cameras and Screens by 2015

DVB forms liaison with 3D@HOME Consortium
Nov 28, 2011 – An agreement confirming a liaison between the 3D@Home Consortium and DVB has been signed. The purpose of the liaison is to encourage the development of standards for 3DTV, to share knowledge about 3D viewing, and to ensure that their work is complementary.

3D LCD TV Panel Penetration Expected to Reach 10% in 2011
Nov 22, 2011 – According to NPD DisplaySearch, shipments of 3D LCD TV panels reached 6.6 million units in Q3'11, accounting for 27% growth Q/Q. In Q3'11, 3D TV panel penetration in total LCD TV panel shipments reached 12%.

DVB Approves Next Step for 3DTV

Germany: Video market continues to decline
Oct 12, 2011 – The Video market in Germany has continued to record negative results, declining by 11.8% in units in 2011, according to GfK. Robust sales of Blu-ray players (30.5%) was not enough to rescue the drop in demand for traditional DVD players.
