German Consumer Electronics market shows value growth of 6.2% in 2010

Results from Q1-Q4 2010 of the Consumer Electronics Market Index (CEMIX), a German market indicator for CE markets, are available for download on the websites of gfu, BVT and GfK Retail and Technology.
The German market for consumer electronics showed a value plus of 6.2% for 2010 compared to 2009. The three sectors within the market all contributed positively to this trend: Consumer Electronics +0.2%, Telecommunication (B2C market) +26.9%, IT (B2C market) +8.4%. Besides a continued positive development for Flat TV, the markets for Set-Top-Boxes, Home Audio products and Audio/Video Accessories also showed major growth potential within the traditional CE sector. Within the IT and Telecommunication sector the most important growth drivers were Smartphones and the Mobile Computing segment.
