América Móvil adds 540,000 pay TV subscribers in Brazil in 4Q 2012
Tuesday, February 12th, 2013MEXICO CITY — América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. (“América Móvil”) [BMV: AMX] [NYSE: AMX] [NASDAQ: AMOV] [LATIBEX: XAMXL], announced today its financial and operating results for the fourth quarter of 2012.
America Movil added 5.6 million wireless clients and 1.3 million RGUs in the fourth quarter to finish December with 325.7 million accesses, 8.7% more than in 2011. This figure includes 16.4 million Pay TV units, up from 13.4 million at the end of 2011.
Brazil
In Brazil, at 28.5% year-on-year, Pay TV is our fastest growing segment, having added 540 thousand Pay TV clients in the last quarter to finish the year with 12.6 million.
Colombia
Fixed-line revenues increased 17.9% on the back of both voice and data services, up 27.3% and 25.5%, respectively, with Pay TV revenues expanding more slowly.
Peru
On the fixed-line front RGUs rose 26.4% year-on-year to 873 thousand, with strong gains in telephony and broadband, up 71.9% and 39.9%, respectively, but with some losses of Pay TV clients.

In the third quarter, we launched our new product Claro Video that gives users unlimited access to a library of movies, TV series and other types of content for a monthly fee. The service is available today in several countries, including Mexico, and will shortly be offered in all our operations.
