Africa ends 1Q 2014 with 14.5 million pay TV subscribers
Friday, July 11th, 2014According to Dataxis, at the end of March 2014 there were 14.5 million pay TV subscribers in Africa, up from 11.6 million at the same date in 2013, an increase over the year of 25%.
The largest market segment was satellite which claimed 11.0 million of the total and was up 18.5% year-on-year. The segment with the highest growth rate was digital terrestrial pay TV, which grew 74.4% over the preceding year to end the quarter at 2.45 million subscribers.
