Nokia takes legal action against Amazon for patent infringement

In a blog post on its web site, Nokia has said that it has commenced legal action against Amazon for the unauthorized use of Nokia’s video-related technologies in its streaming services and devices. The company says that it has filed cases in the US, Germany, India, the UK, and the European Unified Patent Court.
Nokia is claiming that Amazon Prime Video and Amazon’s streaming devices infringe its patents covering technologies including video compression, content delivery, content recommendation and aspects related to hardware.
