Germany: CE Market Index Q1-Q2 2010

GERMANY — Consumer Electronics — The first half of 2010 saw a 5.4% growth rate in the German Consumer Electronics market, compared to the same period last year. The sectors CE, Telecommunication (private users) and IT (private users) contributed to the cumulative increase in turnover (+4.1%, +11.9% and +4.4% respectively), with the Telco market seeing the steepest incline.

The World Cup left an obvious mark on the Consumer Electronics Market, indicated by the increase in TV sales around the event in the second quarter of 2010. The Television market alone turned over of 3.1 billion euro in the first half of 2010 – an increase of 12.3% on the same period last year.
