TeliaSonera has released its year-end report for the January-December 2012 period.
The total number of TV subscriptions increased by 155,000 from the fourth quarter of 2011 and by 43,000 during the quarter to 1.3 million.
In Sweden, uptake of TV subscriptions reached its highest level in two years and the total number of subscriptions now amounts to 580,000. In Finland, the total number of TV customers passed 400,000 and revenues increased almost 50 percent compared to the same period last year.
In Lithuania, net sales in local currency decreased 3.0 percent to the equivalent of SEK 474 million (515) since the growth from TV and fiber could not fully compensate for the decline in fixed voice revenues.
In Estonia, revenues from IPTV continue to be strong and revenues more than doubled compared to the same period a year ago. During the fourth quarter, a Smart-TV solution was launched together with Samsung. The service is unique in terms of easy to use and customer friendly, as it does not require any external set-top-box.
