Bhagyanagar Digital Services Indian cable consortium to use Conax content security
May 13, 2013 — Conax has announced that Bhagyanagar Digital Services has selected Conax to deliver the MSO's cable TV operators with a cost effective and flexible content security (CAS) solution for enabling smooth digital migration and development of subscriber bases.

Reliance Digital TV subscribers unchanged in 1Q 2013 at 4.6 million
May 10, 2013 — Reliance Communications Limited (RCOM) today announced its consolidated financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2013. Reliance Digital TV currently has 4.6 million subscribers, the same number as at the end of 2012, with 8% share of the DTH market in India.

India adds over 10 million satellite TV subscribers in 2012
May 6, 2013 — The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released telecom performance indicators for the Quarter ending December 2012. At the end of the year the reported registered subscriber base for satellite TV providers was 54.52 million, up from 44.21 at the end of 2011.

airtel Digital TV subscribers pass the 8 million mark
May 2, 2013 — Bharti Airtel has released results for the year ended March 31, 2013. Airtel digital TV had 8.1 million customers on its Direct-To-Home (DTH) platform at the end of the quarter, an increase of 872,000 versus the same point in 2012.

13.6 million digital set-top boxes installed in India's Phase-II cities
Apr 12, 2013 — According to India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting the total number of installed cable TV STBs stands at 9.15 million whereas DTH operators have installed a total of 4.45 million STBs during Phase II of the switch over from analogue cable to digital in 38 cities.

Digitization Reaches 67% in India's Phase II Cities

55% TV digitisation target achieved in India's Phase II cities
