Altech UEC manufactures 20 millionth set-top box
Mar 6, 2014 – South Africa's Altech UEC has celebrated the production of its twenty millionth set-top box in February 2014. The biggest market for Altech UEC at the moment is the rest of Africa due to the roll-out of DTT.

Ecuador adds 443 thousand pay TV subscribers in 2013
Mar 5, 2014 – Ecuador’s Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUPERTEL) has released pay TV statistics for the country at the end of December 2013. There were 944 thousand subscribers in the Republic at that date, up from 501 thousand at the end of 2012.

Belarus reaches 97.4% DTT coverage
Mar 5, 2014 – The Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus has given an update on the status of its project to move the country to DTT broadcasting. Currently 97.4% of households have access to digital TV with this figure expected to reach 98% later this year.

České Radiokomunikace to extend DVB-T2 trial to cover Ultra HD
Feb 28, 2014 – České Radiokomunikace has been given permission for the continuation of its DVB-T2 broadcasting trial. The company will work with Czech TV to test Ultra HD broadcasting and will also investigate interference to DVB-T2 reception from LTE mobile networks.
