UWB Market Sees Major Setbacks, but Some Progress
Jan 20, 2009 – 2008 was a tough year for ultrawideband (UWB) technology, reports In-Stat. There are now four fewer UWB chip makers than there were in the middle of 2008. However, the first UWB-enabled digital televisions did ship in Japan in 2008.

Maroc Telecom consolidated revenues at December 31, 2008
Jan 19, 2009 – Maroc Telecom's landline Internet customer base reached 482,000 lines at the end of 2008, up 1.3% compared to 2007, to which nearly 30,000 Internet Mobile 3G+ and 10,000 IPTV customers have to be added.

Jan 15, 2009 – For the first time in 12 years Telekom Austria has seen growth in access line subscribers, due to combi-package sales. The development was also positive for aonTV with customer numbers rising from 10,930 at end-2007 to 63,800 at end-2008.

Shaw delivers solid first quarter results
Jan 14, 2009 – Shaw Communications (STSX: SJR.B, NYSE: SJR) has announced results for the first quarter ended November 30, 2008. During the quarter digital cable customers grew by 60,717 to 967,037 and DTH (Star Choice) customers increased 448 to 892,976.
