Big Screen TV shipments surge in China
Jun 20, 2016 – Large-screen TV shipments in China rose from 2.1 million units in the first quarter of 2015 to reach 3.8 million units in the first quarter of this year, according to IHS (NYSE: IHS). Nearly two-thirds were 4K TV models.

17% of display shipment area to be WCG by 2018
Jun 14, 2016 – Shipment area of wide color gamut (WCG) displays is expected to reach 32 million square meters in 2018, which represents 17 percent of total display shipment area, according to IHS (NYSE: IHS). WCG displays include organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and quantum dot technologies.

Smart TV shipments exceed 100 million units in 2015
May 19, 2016 – According to IHS, worldwide shipments of smart TVs in 4Q 2015 reached 48.5% of all TV sets shipped in the quarter. In all, 34.2 million smart TVs were shipped, contributing to shipments breaking the 100 million mark for the first time in 2015.
