Sigma Designs, Inc. Reports First Quarter Fiscal 2012 Results
May 25, 2011 – Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM) has reported results for its first quarter ended April 30, 2011. Net revenue for the quarter was $60.6 million, down $4.6 million, or 7%, from $65.2 million reported for the same period last year.

STB shipment volumes to decline by 9% in 2011
May 23, 2011 – According to Screen Digest, 199m digital set-top boxes were shipped in 2010. However, STB shipment volumes will decline by 9% in 2011 due to reduced demand for DTA STBs in North America and satellite pay TV STBs in India.

Czech Television prepares HbbTV pilot broadcast with ANTIK Technology
May 23, 2011 – Set-top box manufacturer ANTIK Technology has announced that they are working with Czech Television on an HbbTV service to be deployed on ANTIK Telecom's network in Slovakia. At a later date, testing will also be carried out in the Czech Republic.

Western Europe digital TV penetration to reach 99% by 2016
May 23, 2011 – Pay TV revenues in Western Europe will not grow between 2011 and 2016 according to a new report from Digital TV Research Ltd. Digital TV penetration will reach 99% by 2016, up from 79% in 2010 - or 172 million homes compared with 133 million.
